I feel like the eBird integration could be tighter. I miss my life lists. I should be able to export all birds at once to eBird AND have access to life lists. In conclusion, tighten up with eBird or bring back the life lists. I love you. |

Merlin Bird ID is as great as eBird is flawed By DrewSailor I have nothing but praise for Merlin Bird ID; I use it every day on dogwalks to different locations, and it has greatly enriched my life and awareness of surroundings. Cornell's eBird, however, is a non-stop display of laziness, apathy and incompetence. I no longer report bird sitings because it asks me to input ALL the information that eBird COULD extract directly from Merlin recordings and not one of the questions is answerable in less than 10 mins (eg "give location; use map"... No map provided: name of bird ( that Merlin ID'd..... and so many bird name in eBird are not the same as the names used in Merlin: I could go on for hours! The first time I used eBird to report bird sitings, it took me over an hour, and I vowed to never make that mistake again! Such a traject loss and waste of information collected by Mein users!! |

Helpful and fun By Quantumator In my opinion, one of the top, completely free apps available. And continues to improve and expand. |

For the curious Have you ever laid in bed with the window open in spring time and listened to all the birds singing? Ever wonder what birds were making those noises? That was me about 2 years ago. Now I know exactly what a Gray catbird or Northern Cardinal or (insert song bird here) sounds like. It’s a great tool which has proved valuable for many questions that I’ve had through the years. |

Welcome to your birding years By Medlen1 Well we’ve hit the age where birding creeps up on you and every conversation is less about what activities your kids are up to and more about that pacific wren that visited the yard. Guys, if you’re there, this is the app for you. Feeling lost with your bros? Can’t keep up with the ornithological jargon? Need the 411 on what the California scrubjay actually is? They got you. 10/10 my guide to life. |

Absolutely LOVE this app! By Homemomx6 I just can’t say enough about how Greta this app is! I use it almost daily to identify birds in my yard or wherever I happen to be. It has helped me learn bird songs and identify birds I can’t even see but can hear! Recommend highly for anyone who loves birding! |

This was amazing until the update By HailCthulhu This app used to be perfect! And then the update happened, and everything is messed up. The interface is less user friendly, which was annoying but manageable. But the real problem is all the glitches. The life list wouldn’t update when I added a new bird, so I signed out and back in like it says to do in the frequently asked questions, and now all of the birds that I’ve added to my list in the last week are gone, and so are all of my sound recordings. I also can’t add a new bird to my life list- it’s deleted as soon as I add it, and all that will show is what I added before the update. If the glitches aren’t fixed I might have to delete this app, which is heartbreaking because I truly enjoy it. |
