In 2024 we still have an app that can’t keep me logged in. Complete rubbish

I hate this app! It is so difficult to find the content you want, it’s organised like a puddle of cat sick. And it’s getting slower and slower over the years. Truly disgraceful.

I’ve loved Documents for years and it’s still a very useful app with a great ability to synchronise with my cloud storage providers. But a recent patch removes the ‘hide margins’ and replaces it with one that reduces margins by a fixed amount so that it cuts off half the text if you try to shrink the margins (in fairness, it does allow you to add margins which is a great way to make space for more detailed notes).

I’ve loved PDFexpert for over a decade, and my love for the app keeps growing with each improvement they add. But more than anything, I think Readdle is one of the most admirable companies because it’s so responsive to people’s feedback - every time I’ve reported a problem they immediately respond and then jump on it. So the app isn’t just the best PDF and document management tool available, it’s constantly improving by adding great features you don’t even realise you need.

So you’re now stuck with whatever margins the document creator sets and there’s no convenient or easy way to zoom in. Such a stupid own goal. I’ve been spreading the word about how great this app is but this makes it so inconvenient to read PDFs I’m going to have to find a replacement.

While I’ve used Chrome on various devices basically since release, it’s really dropped the ball on iPad recently. Searching in Google results in an inevitable freeze where I have wait 10-50 seconds before the page loads, can’t interact with the page while it’s loading. It’s getting so bad that I’m on the verge of shifting to safari… So disappointing that Google can’t make a browser that works with its own search engine.

Horrible app that looks like an mid-90’s search engine (and is about as useful). Layout makes it very hard to find what you want, you can nominate sports as favourites but the homepage is just a mishmash of unrelated garbage, and while the video quality is OK the scrubbing and skipping is trash. Absolutely disgraceful that you pay good money and have to deal with this kind of rubbish.

Absolutely love using Google Earth! The navigation is simple and intuitive, but still leaves a sense of wonder both at the technical marvel running in the background and the beauty of the world around us.

While the range of sports is good, and the content is of sufficient quality, the app is a nightmare to navigate. It constantly shows junk content I have no interest in, and it is incredibly hard to find a the shows I am interested in even though I’ve added the sports as favourites (of course expecting it to allow me to favourite a particular show would be asking too much). Just a quick look at any of the major streaming apps would make clear what is required, but seems like they just don’t care.

The reviews are accurate, this app is rubbish. Slow and clunky to use, can’t reliably download whole books, can’t seem to go more than a few pages before it shows a blank page for no reason.
Apple should kick this abomination off the iTunes Store till it actually works.

Still the worst app I’ve ever used. The home page is a complete shambles and it’s incredibly difficult to find anything you want between the cluttered garbage that is strewn about. Been like this for years but Kayo is just too lazy to do anything about it.

App works really well, content is very good, but having a giant watermark on screen through all the content is stupid and distracting. None of the other streaming apps have this rubbish…

I’ve been using PDFExpert for many years and it’s just wonderful. The integration with google, Dropbox, and OneDrive is brilliant, the markup tools are very powerful, and it is able to keep all my PDFs in perfect order.
The development is always ongoing, and results in improvements both big and small. The company is incredibly responsive, and any time I’ve encountered a problem (usually pretty minor) they come back to me within a day to ensure they understand the issue, and then resolve it pretty fast.
