The free version allows you to play one game every 12 hours. Not particularly generous, but ok. Except it rarely works. Past few days I can get the game starting music cue, but then the game never actually starts.
So why not buy the game? Well.. I tried. Spending real cash for in game currency so I could unlock some of the game modes and play at will.
Except they took my money and never delivered the in-game gold. Multiple emails to support got automated responses, but no human ever followed up. After 5 days, I requested a refund from Apple and got it.
But seriously, the game developers are awful, and clearly don’t care about their customers.

I love the Spider variation in this game, hands down my favorite one, and it’s essentially the only I play regularly. But it’s frustrating that while there are 4 levels of difficulty — from 1 star (easy) to 4 stars (expert), the daily challenges do not give each of those equal weight.
If the daily challenges were 25% easy, 25% medium, etc? I’d give the game 5 stars.
But the reality is that 80% of the daily challenges are easy and medium. With the remaining 20% split between hard and expert.
Even in the larger challenges they have each day, it’s the same thing, with the easier options having a significantly higher frequency than the more challenging ones. Why they insist on skewing towards the easier options is beyond me. I like that there’s a range of difficulty, that’s fantastic ! But give all four options the same weight when it comes to the regular challenges. Until then? 3 stars.

As for the developer response… the last time I opened the app, before deleting it for good… I had to dismiss SIX pop-ups “GIVE US MONEY! WATCH ADS FOR COINS!” Before being able to play the first game.
SIX of them. And every time you go to the game lobby, there are more pop ups. “COME ON, GIVE US MONEY FOR COINS, YOU CAN’T PLAY WITHOUT THEM!”
Beyond obnoxious.

Writing this on my iPad. I have no beef with the iPad app. But I want to watch most of my tv/movies on my giant screen hanging on my wall at home. And one of the streamers I really like is Amazon Prime.
But… on the Apple TV app specifically, the Amazon Prime Video app has the worst possible interface to scrub through a show.
Don’t believe me? Open any Netflix or Apple TV show, on their apps. Jump forward or back to any part of the video you want.
Now try it on Prime Video, and be prepared to rip your hair out. (Full disclosure: I shave my head. That’s how bad the app is at scrubbing video.)
They fix that? I’ll give it a glowing review. Meantime? Shame!! Shame!!

Sure, some of the tribes are over/under powered. But the biggest issue is the cloaks. They are far too overpowered, even if all tribes have access to them.
One invisible cloak steals money, and creates a ring of enemies around the besieged city that require two hits to kill. And you can spam cloaks on the same city turn after turn after turn.
The game would be improved if the spawned enemies were easier to kill, and a city could not be hit with a cloak more than once every three turns.
And I say this as someone who has used the cloak strategy extensively. You either have to spam cloaks against your enemy, or be prepared to deal with a nonstop onslaught of them against you.

Tried playing on my iPad. Which has a lovely stand that allows it to rest on the table in landscape mode, as iPads do.
The game will not acknowledge that, and ONLY works in portrait mode. I am not going to hold my iPad the entire time because the developers didn’t allow the screen to rotate.

The app makes it impossible for people with bad eyesight to use. Even with glasses on, the font is tiny tiny tiny. I can’t read it. Of course I went into the preferences to find a way to make it larger, or to ask it to my phone’s system font. But the option isn’t there.
So if your vision is spot on, you may love the app. But if your Vision isn’t perfect, good luck reading anything here.

My impression of what WWF2 has become:

Wait, what? You want $10 a month, every month?
“Yeah! Then you get more goodies!”
That’s… $120 a year. I can buy a super deluxe version of a AAA title with all the trimmings for less than that.
“Yeah, we need $120 per year, so make those nifty animations you can’t skip!”
I’m gonna pass.
“OK. Click here! Another unskippable animation! Oh, and… can we have $10 NOW? Please?”
End scene. Audience bursts into massive applause.

The game is so overloaded with useless junk now that it takes forever to just play a game with your friends. Constant “rewards” and bonuses and additional games and challenges ... all with animations you can’t skip. Developers are doing all they can to get you to buy this or that or the other.
The core game is still solid — even as the dictionary remains second rate, and the board is too small (have a late-game 7-letter word that can turn a losing game into a win? Yeah, there’s nowhere to play it, board is tiny.).
Was ready to abandon ship and go to Scrabble, but seems Scrabble has thrown in with the evil empire and copied WWF’s approach. Lots of junk, little game.
Really disappointing.

I play this on my ipad, not on my phone. Microsoft’s Solitaire team has done a great job on that front. The game plays beautifully in both portrait and landscape mode.
For some reason, the Sudoku team has only added portrait orientation.
My ipad does not rest on a table top in portrait. All stands for iPads are designed for landscape mode. And this game is perfect for iPads in landscape mode. Other sudoku apps have figured out how to implement that, not sure why Microsoft hasn’t.
When they fix this, I’ll give a much more glowing review.

It’s a solid game. But of the five game modes, really the only one that calls to me is Spider, which is fantastic. And I love the daily challenges.
Except the vast, vast majority of the time they are only 1 or 2 star difficulty. And once you learn how to play the game, those are doable on auto pilot. You barely have to pay attention.
For instance, as I write this on October 4, there have been three single-star challenges, and one two-star challenge. I love that there are challenges for all skill levels, but how about evening them out?
Daily, go from one-star, two-stars the next day, then three and four on the next two consecutive days. Give us some real variety and stop putting 85% of the focus on the easiest two options please.

A truly great digital implementation of the game. But one that doesn’t support landscape mode.
Let me be clear. I want to use this while my iPad is on its stand, on the table in front of me. I do not want to be forced to hold it the entire time.
That poor design element cost a full 3 stars in my review, it’s such a bad decision.
Add landscape mode and I’ll give it 5 stars and even subscribe to the ad-free mode.

Day is short, and little gets done. Night takes too long to get through as you are literally just sitting there waiting for it to be over with (villagers won’t work at night).
I like that I can jump between my Mac and iPad. That’s a big plus.
Well made, fun, but not very original. Seen many game like it before. Collect resources, build town.
If night could be significantly sped up, I’d likely give it 4 stars.

Why would you move all the buttons around? For no reason at all? Know how many times I’ve recalled all the letters because you moved the recall button to where the play button was for years?
Pointless UI update.

My iPad stand only holds the iPad horizontally. Why the developers made this vertical only, so you can use it on an iPad, is beyond me.

Really good game. Would give it 4 stars for gameplay. But loses one star for not offering landscape mode. Yes, it can be designed to work landscape. And that would mean my iPad could rest on the table, and I wouldn’t have to hold it the entire time. Make me hold the iPad the entire game when it has a perfectly good stand, lose a star.

Playing my first game tomorrow, just did the tutorial. And know why it lost two stars already? Because my iPad is on a stand. And that stand lets it sit on my table. In landscape mode only.
And this app only works in portrait mode.
Seriously? You can not put an iPad on a stand in portrait mode. Very annoying.
Anyway, I’m hoping the games are fun. But this is needlessly frustrating.

I don’t need to see the same animations beginning to end every single turn. When a property is bought, I don’t need it up on screen as long as it is, and there is no way to skip past that either. An option for faster animation, or animation skipping, would be an amazing add.
Also needs a custom rule option — no buying property first orbit around the board.
Add those two things and my 3-stars goes to 5-stars.

I want to love Roadie — I really do. But the truth is, it’s just too slow, and the interface is lacking some polish. I could deal with the latter if the speed weren’t such an issue. I’ll get back to my car and try to look through multiple clips and incidents. But it takes so long to load the footage — even via my phone’s personal hotspot — that I usually just give up. I then want to load it to my computer, but I can't easily just take the card out and throw it in a USB slot, so I have to download the clips via my phone… which again is painful due to the slow speed.
At home, forget connecting through the device’s wifi, it can’t go through my front door. And it doesn’t appear to work well with my home wifi which does reach the car.
I’ve also lost track of the number of times I’ve swiped back on the footage to go to another clip, and I swipe once too often and it goes to the splash screen again — which means once again waiting for it to connect again. That’s fixable with some app coding, I assume. But that won’t fix the transfer speed issue.
I’m past the 14-day return window, so I’ll consider it a lesson learned. But in the end, I just can’t recommend this product. And honestly, I have no idea if the speed bottleneck is the Roadie device, or the nature of sending footage via hotspot connections. But I have an iPhone 11 so it’s as new as it gets, and — whatever the reason for the slow speed — the end results leaves much to be desired.
In short, the device does what it promises to do. No issues overall. It’s just a slow, tedious process. I’m likely switching back to a thumb drive that I can connect directly to my phone via lightning cable. Not ideal, but the speed makes up for it.

The new iPad functionality changes my review from 2 stars to 5 stars. It was a desperately needed update and I’m thrilled the developers listened and reacted. Thank you!

I have an iPad. On a stand. That sits perfectly on a table. But only in landscape mode. Why are you making me hold it and use in portrait mode only? Good apps work in both alignments.

Love the game on my Mac. The iPad version has too many UI issues. And the tiny, tiny, tiny text doesn’t help. If they ever make the text readable for older eyes, and fix the UI quagmires, I’ll be very excited to try out the new DLC. Until then....

Can you PLEASE move the 2X button to the other side of the screen, away form the “roll dice” button? I am so tired of hitting the wrong button by mistake because they are right next to each other.

I used to be able to send photos to my frame and my parents’ frame at the same time. You know, so I’d have pics of the kids, and they’d have pics of the grandkids.
It worked great.
Now, it requires sending to one... and then going back to select the same photos again, and then you can send to the other frame.
That’s right. Used to be one step, now it’s two.
Boneheaded decision, whoever came up with that.
Please put it back to the way it was.
Also... my frame is landscape. My iPad has a stand that holds it landscape, too. So why on earth is the app portrait only? Come on, developers. Let’s fix this stuff.
Love the frame, it’s this interface that needs work.

Puzzle was absurdly easy. I dunno, maybe there are more challenging ones. But I won't find out until the ads go away.
Boost difficulty, get rid of ads, and I'll be happy to pay for the app or a subscription.

Needs to be a way to speed up the animations. Take forever. Slow the game down.
Also, by rotating the text in the rooms, the game could be played landscape. Which means instead of holding my iPad the entire time, it'd fit on the tabletop with the smart stand. That alone takes it down 2 stars.

Content is solid. But the interface is almost a pre-alpha. Missing so many features, especially compared to GuitarTricks, which feels like a polished, finished product by comparison.
I'm gonna ride out my year membership because it has some great lessons and songs I wanna learn, but I won't renew unless they fix their awful interface.

One of the worst design choices they could have made, even though their earlier app handled landscape just fine.
