No cell coverage, no maps

  

Ok, so many mountains don’t have paper maps anymore. So what is one to do, use the map on the map maybe? Yeah, don’t count on it. If you are on a lift with poor cell coverage good luck getting the trail map to load. So one of the most useful features of the app is pretty much useless most of the time.

Typically need to force quit and restart to get it to work, otherwise just won’t display any information. That and the amount of ads make this less than useful

I bought a product that worked. They pushed out a new app to unsuspecting users and left us all with something that is marginally functional on the best of days.
I have zero confidence in leaving my house for multiple days in the winter with this thermostat. I could come home and it could be 85 degrees or 25 degrees....I would have zero control over the temperature.
And the company had a functioning product. But they are too stubborn to roll back the app to something that works. So all us poor suckers are left being uncomfortable in our own homes.
Never again Lux or Johnson controls.
Update 1-22-21. Ha ha ha ha. It’s been months and now the Lux support is commenting on post. MONTHS. Winter is almost over. Lux, you screwed up. Don’t hide it. Don’t try and say you will fix it and “escalate to support”. You could have done that many many many weeks ago. Too late. Don’t buy this product. They don’t listen.
Update 2-2-21. 3 separate tickets opened this week. Zero response. If you need to have a working heating system DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY OR JOHNSON CONTROLS. so bad.
Update 2-28. So many chances to upgrade an app that is broken. Every new “fix” that comes out is still flawed. No quality control with this company. No customer support. They are happy to sell you something and not give a hoot after. Johnson controls should be ashamed.

If they had spent 5 minutes testing the “new improved app” before pushing it out to unsuspecting customers they would have know what a piece of garbage the new app is. Can’t even add a second thermostat...app keeps freezing. Bring back the old app.
Updated 5 days later: I now have 4 separate support tickets in as I can not control my house with the new app. Crickets from Lux. Not a single email. Nothing. Customer service is horrible.
Update 10 days later...still nothing although I see the company is advertising their product on sale at some retailers. I will be replacing all my thermostats this weekend with a different manufacturer. Appearantly Lux just isn’t going to make any communication attempts with anyone it has effected with this change. There is snow on the ground and I do not have a reliable remote solution to control the temperature. Into the garbage it goes!!
