Instead of making Pro more compelling they’re making Free more annoying by adding a 10 second wait before you can enter a transaction, and limiting you to a few transactions a day.

You should not have a limit as to how many receipts you can post. I haven’t added any receipts today, but it’s telling me I can’t add any more receipts for today. I would never recommend this app to anyone.

Where do I start? From the stupid phrasing, to the clunky interface, to having to give yet another startup your financial information. I wish I’d just told the people requesting through Splitwise that I’d just Venmo them.
I tried to add roughly the amount of what I owed to Splitwise Pay, then a couple days later, went to “Settle up” (don’t forget that phrase, or you want be able to easily pay the people you owe money to) and it withdrew from my account rather than my balance. Why? Because the transaction has still not shown up as completed almost a week later and already having left my bank account. Or there was some extra step I missed to use their native system. Either way, it’s garbage and I need to figure out how to get my $300 back out.

Screw this - I’m deleting my account after settling up this one trip I have on there. As someone who used and told other people to use this app for years, this ridiculous move of practically bullying people into buying Splitwise Pro will be the reason for their downfall. There is no reason to even have a “free” account anymore as it’s basically useless after adding 2 transactions without ads and 2 more with ads for the day before “reaching a limit”.

Excellent way to keep it all organized and easy. From dinners, car rentals, hotels and golf bets!

Slowest development. Finally transactions are added. But you can’t turn off notifications? This is the kind of stuff that just shows no UI design experience. I hadn’t checked the reviews for ages. 3.5 at time of writing is accurate. Cancelling pro and looking for alternatives.

Like many others, I used to use this app frequently and find the interface and features to be refreshingly simple and straightforward. I would gladly pay a few bucks for lifetime access to the app to support the developers. But turning such a simple utility into a subscription “service” and paywalling even basic usage is ridiculous. There’s nothing service-like about it, it’s a slightly dressed up calculator program. Back to back-and-forth Venmoing I guess.

Really love the app. Very easy to manage group expenses and splits. Love the feature simplify group debts.
