i have a separate vpn, but this stupid app switched on the mcafee vpn without asking, stopping some of my most used apps from working. i've had the vpn app for years and this mcafee app for 11 months during which i've never turned on the mcafee vpn. 24apr2024: settings were correct (Don't auto connect) but VPN switched itself on anyway. this week my combined ms office/mcafee subscription ended ... good riddance to bad rubbish ! uninstalled.
