Whilst using other apps like Whatsapp even Instagram or Messenger the video call quality is great because it prioritizes fps rather than quality. On the same network, at the same hour, I've made video calls to the same phone via Viber (16x16 pixel grid of a slideshow of the person speaking with me, with audio lagging and staying behind severely), while on Wapp and Instagram the quality is at least 480p, with constant 20-30fps with the audio lagging of only about a second.
