The worst customer service that I’ve experienced (Subs aren’t working in dubs when in PiP!)

  

I’ve waited well over a year and eight for them to fix a subtitle problem, only for them to either never fix it, or somehow make it even worse! I’ve had a better experience, dealing with customer service at Genshin Impact! A game that’s infamous for taking a year to add quality of life features, and is well known for not listening to any of their fan base. yes, their company’s customer service is better than Crunchyroll’s! Another thing that I found recently, is that they’re taking multiple days to either turn on subtitles or makes sure that the subtitles work in the PiP! Recently, the subtitle related problems are getting worse and worse with each passing season, and all of the customer service agents don’t even to care, much less try to help. It’s painfully obvious like the vast majority of them are just copy and pasting pre-written scripts! Every time they eventually fix one problem, another one or two pop up the to take its place! They just unofficially shut down they’re a dub YouTube channel, and officially shut down their V-tuber’s (Hime) YouTube channel. let’s hope that they finally focusing on fixing the problems that plague the service.

Missing subtitles and PiP doesn’t work without a premium account?!!!

  

I’ve been watching Delicious in dungeon, and for some reason, some of the dubbed episodes are missing subtitles for the onscreen text. (Episodes 10, 12, 13, and 14) I’ve been reporting the issue to the website multiple times during the past week and they still haven’t fixed it yet! Can we please get some anime profile picture? Still no widget. There’s no Picture in Picture unless you’re paying for premium! (Despite the fact that they make more money because I switched to the ad version)

Some of the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! (And I’ve been through a lot!) Face ID on the app does work anymore and the auto pay feature doesn’t seem to be working. Ever since my credit union sold their ability to make credit card to this company, it’s been a one headache after another!

(It doesn’t even go to the next episode.) - If you’re watching a dubbed episode, there’s no way to get just the subtitles for the onscreen text. (Which is more than a little distracting.) - Some stuff just isn’t available. - I wish there was a better search bar. If you’re looking for the more "cultured" stuff? You have to remember the show or movie by name. UPDATE: Sometimes the episode will leave the continue watching for if you finish the episode, and then immediately close the app. But it’s not consistent. The fact that I had to backdoor it like that, isn’t a good look. - On the website, Please bring back the schedule. The coming soon section doesn’t tell us what days the new episodes come out or when new dubbed episodes come out, which the schedule always did. - There’s no way to report something if you find anything wrong.

I’ve seen so many hateful racist and ablest comments lately, and when I try to rightfully report them, the system claims that it hasn’t broken one of their rules. Yet we have to fight with Hoyoverse to get any quality of life features that we desperately need. Meanwhile HSR comes along and is giving out free 10 pulls every single patch. It wins an award at the video game awards, and then gives its players a free five star character that’s OP. Meanwhile when Genshin wins same exact award, we don’t even get a 10 pull. People are even starting to boycott the game! Typically the quality of life features that are added to the game are just to help new players, not us players who have been here from the beginning. I’ve been playing the game since September 2020. I’ve seen people come and go yet I have stayed. All I’m asking for is better treatment from Hoyoverse. It seems as if HSR players are treated as gods or kings, whereas we Genshin players are treated as peasants or beggars. (Maybe even as livestock) The lead producer (Cia) needs to either start giving us the same type of rewards as David. Another year same problems

It’s been over a year, unless these problems are resolved soon, I will be unsubscribing. It’s bad enough that I have to constantly request that the subtitles for the new episodes of different shows to be turned on. (almost daily) It’s bad that I have to constantly request that subtitles work within the PIP. (also almost daily) It’s really bad that, in a year only three somewhat significant issues were resolved, and that’s after around half a year of waiting. Some shows and or episodes are missing subtitles. While others have everything turned on, but are still missing one or two lines of text that need subtitles. The subtitles of some episodes have massive layering issues, where the text it is poor overlaid with the kanji, or in some cases they’re so blurry that is impossible to make out anything. I’ve been waiting for over a year for Crunchyroll to fix the subtitles for the first two seasons of Dr. Stone. Only to find that season one was never fixed, and season two after being worked on, was even worse than season one’s problem! In season one, as soon as you enter the PIP mode, the subtitles dictate every spoken word. In season two you have the same problem while you’re still in the app! (The first picture was taken around a year ago, while the second photo was taken just a few minutes ago.) Other problems that I have with crunchyroll: . Turns out that Crunchyroll is very anti-union. I still remember what happened when the original English voice actor of Mob when he requested that crunchyroll at least speak to union representatives. . The fact that Sony/Crunchyroll is more concerned about forming a monopoly, than actually fixing the problems that they already have. (The many problems listed are perfect examples of this fact.) . The fact that Sony\Crunchyroll was illegally selling their customers data, and after the trial they only offered around $30 in compensation to each victim. When you and I both know that they must’ve made somewhere around ten times to a hundred times that at least. . There’s features that were promised to us that we never received. (I.e. The SKIP RECAP button) . Some shows won’t leave the Continue Watching bar. You could finish every single episode of every season of a show, and it won’t leave. It’ll stay and play in an infinite loop! . The almost deification of some of the legacy voice actors. Apparently, when said voice actors, do something wrong or controversial, we’re not allowed to call them out on it. For example: Monica Rial. During the Vic Mignogna case a few years back, when she made all of these accusations, people on Twitter asked for details and evidence. Her response was "Thank you, my lawyer will be in touch." Translation: "Shut up, or I will sue you too." When Funimation was made aware of her threatening tweets, they made her write an "apology" letter where she made it out to be that WE were the problem, and that she forgave us. Only for her to send the same threatening tweet over and over again to anyone and everyone who dared to question her. She must’ve sent it to hundreds of us! (Talk about an unapologetic narcissist) More recently, she was on the Crunchyroll-Hime YouTube channel. After I reminded every one of her actions. I must’ve been banned from commenting during any, and all of the livestreams. Because ever since, all of my comments get automatically deleted. (It’s been months, and I still can’t.) If at least some of these problems aren’t resolved by the beginning of January, I WILL be unsubscribing! I don’t know if anyone is actually reading this, for all, I know, all of the agents and "specialists" that I have spoken to over the years might be deleting my messages/concerns, instead of sending them to the appropriate and/or most helpful department\ department head.

Ways to improve the app:

  

- Please have the companion widget at different sizes. (Currently it only works in the largest version) - Please let us redeem the redemption codes in the in the Hoyolab app. - Please fix the app so that it fills the screen when using the app on a IPad. - Please fix the notifications, I don’t get anything about the ongoing events until there’s only a few days left, and the red dot notifications don’t show up until after you open and close the app. UPDATE: They NEED to fix to fix their Notification system. I just lost out on the rewards because of it! The agent was anything but helpful!

Another year same problems

It’s been over a year, unless these problems are resolved soon, I will be unsubscribing.
It’s bad enough that I have to constantly request that the subtitles for the new episodes of different shows to be turned on. (almost daily) It’s bad that I have to constantly request that subtitles work within the PIP. (also almost daily) It’s really bad that, in a year only three somewhat significant issues were resolved, and that’s after around half a year of waiting. Some shows and or episodes are missing subtitles. While others have everything turned on, but are still missing one or two lines of text that need subtitles. The subtitles of some episodes have massive layering issues, where the text it is poor overlaid with the kanji, or in some cases they’re so blurry that is impossible to make out anything.
I’ve been waiting for over a year for Crunchyroll to fix the subtitles for the first two seasons of Dr. Stone. Only to find that season one was never fixed, and season two after being worked on, was even worse than season one’s problem! In season one, as soon as you enter the PIP mode, the subtitles dictate every spoken word. In season two you have the same problem while you’re still in the app! (The first picture was taken around a year ago, while the second photo was taken just a few minutes ago.)
Other problems that I have with crunchyroll:
. Turns out that Crunchyroll is very anti-union. I still remember what happened when the original English voice actor of Mob when he requested that crunchyroll at least speak to union representatives.
. The fact that Sony/Crunchyroll is more concerned about forming a monopoly, than actually fixing the problems that they already have. (The many problems listed are perfect examples of this fact.)
. The fact that Sony\Crunchyroll was illegally selling their customers data, and after the trial they only offered around $30 in compensation to each victim. When you and I both know that they must’ve made somewhere around ten times to a hundred times that at least.
. There’s features that were promised to us that we never received. (I.e. The SKIP RECAP button)
. Some shows won’t leave the Continue Watching bar. You could finish every single episode of every season of a show, and it won’t leave. It’ll stay and play in an infinite loop!
. The almost deification of some of the legacy voice actors. Apparently, when said voice actors, do something wrong or controversial, we’re not allowed to call them out on it. For example: Monica Rial. During the Vic Mignogna case a few years back, when she made all of these accusations, people on Twitter asked for details and evidence. Her response was "Thank you, my lawyer will be in touch." Translation: "Shut up, or I will sue you too." When Funimation was made aware of her threatening tweets, they made her write an "apology" letter where she made it out to be that WE were the problem, and that she forgave us. Only for her to send the same threatening tweet over and over again to anyone and everyone who dared to question her. She must’ve sent it to hundreds of us! (Talk about an unapologetic narcissist)
More recently, she was on the Crunchyroll-Hime YouTube channel. After I reminded every one of her actions. I must’ve been banned from commenting during any, and all of the livestreams. Because ever since, all of my comments get automatically deleted. (It’s been months, and I still can’t.)
If at least some of these problems aren’t resolved by the beginning of January, I WILL be unsubscribing!
