What is going on!? For past month, Open the App and it just freezes all the time. Have to restart it 4-6 times to load. The amount of spam buyers has exploded, info on buyers reduced and stupid constant alerts to “just finish your advert” when you don’t have a draft. Been such a steadfast business but just painful right now.

Everyone should stop using gumtree. This app is a joke for one the billion ads and slow loading probably because of the ads and a lot of scammers. Go out of business gumtree

Too many scammers to be a useful app to sell things now.

Gumtree should be a good marketplace option. But it’s overrun by scammers. I listed an item and received 7 suspicious messages. I know what to look for so they stood out quite obviously. As soon as I said cash on pickup they’d stop communication or make up a lame excuse about how their relative who was going to pick it up for the can’t do cash. I tried to
Make a complaint to Gumtree but like most corporatized businesses these days it’s impossible to send a simple email to them. Shame really.

App is using processing power intensely but the contents are general making phone quite hot while Gumtree app is open in use. Further, waiting for reviewing before add being published- still cant remove scammers hassling normal people. Any awareness post on scammers or law breaker are not allowed anymore which is nonsense.

Each and every aspect of the app is disappointing. Imagine that you cannot use maps to specify your search in the app in 2024! You can’t just copy a link to the ad to your clipboard. Images that you attach to your ad get shuffled. And the worst - try to use it for more than 10 mins and you will see how slow and laggy it becomes! I wish I could rate it 0/5.

Within a mi Ute of posting an ad, you get a message asking if it’s still available!!! This is your first red flag! The second being that they joined Gumtree in 2024. The third red flag being that their username is some sort of “support” and they want you to give the item to their “nephew” after paying with payID as they can’t get there themselves. Or they will be paying for a courier to pick it up. It’s constantly an issue. Not worth the effort. FB marketplace is full of scammers also but atleast you can see their profile and pick it a mile away and actually report them.

App continually crashes upon opening. Deleted and reinstalled and issue is still there. Devs need to keep an eye on this as losing revenue.

This app is a breeding ground for scammers and fraudsters. I would suggest not using this app to sell anything significant as a vehicle . You are better off and safer using CarSales or similar. I feel ripped off for paying $50 to have scammers constantly contact me. It’s definitely a gateway to scammers. My vehicle has been on gumtree since February this year and already 22 fraud and scam emails. Upon reporting this to Gumtree a few times I have not received a response or even an acknowledgment of my emails. It shows gumtree don’t care about the general public’s online safety but are quick to pocket the cash. If I could leave a zero star rating I certainly would. I have removed my add for piece of mind!

What’s happened to the app. I’ve been using it for over 12 years and it’s been great. but now every time I go in it freezes and I have to shut down or I get in and it lasts a few minutes then starts lagging or freezing. I’ve logged out and uninstalled a few times and it’s still the same.
Also so many scammers are on there now when selling and buying. I had 5 scammers in a row straight after listing an item.
